The tour begins with the gathering of jeeps at the designated meeting point. Our safari vehicles will take us along the following route:
Tlos Ancient City: The city, which has a history of approximately 4000 years, still bears the traces of four different empires. It contains many rock tombs, a church, a Roman bath, an ancient theater, and a castle from the Ottoman era. The city has hosted the Lycians, Romans, Byzantines, and Ottomans.
Yakapark: Yakapark is famous for its abundance of cold water springs and trout farms. The melting snow from the region's highest mountain, Akdağ (3024 m), first goes underground and then surfaces naturally. Yakaköy, resembling a piece of paradise, welcomes visitors with its picturesque natural park and trout farms.
Food: Next to a gently flowing river near Saklıkent, the exquisite buffet prepared with fresh vegetables sourced from the area is simply magnificent. This is a family-run business. All meals are prepared daily. The menu, consisting of mezes and two different main courses, leaves a lasting impression.
Girmeler Cave: Named after the village it is located in, Girmeler Cave is found about 30 km southeast of Fethiye, along the Fethiye Saklıkent road. Also referred to as Alexander the Great's Cave or the Smoky Cave in the region, the cave has become a center of interest due to archaeological findings from recent excavations. The bronze axe discovered in the 1960s changed known information about Lycian history and eliminated doubts regarding the Lycian's indigenous status in Anatolia. The traces of settlement from the Chalcolithic and Bronze Ages, discovered during excavations conducted under the direction of Professor Taner Korkut in 1987, show that the region’s human culture has been uninterrupted for at least 5,000 years. The galleries can be accessed through two entrances, one large and one small, and walking through them is not too difficult. Don’t forget to take a photo in front of it.
Saklıkent: Saklıkent, one of the world's most renowned canyons, was formed approximately 1.8 million years ago due to an earthquake. This place is a unique beauty and a magnificent feature of Anatolia. The canyon is 18 km long and 600 m high. ENTRY IS CHARGEABLE, even if SYMBOLIC. Those participating in the safari have the opportunity to see this beauty and witness the power of nature for 1 hour.
Rafting: Ringo rafting, organized since 1994 on the Karaçay River that flows through Saklıkent, is optional. Visitors who wish to participate can make reservations in advance by consulting with the guide. Rafting is open to everyone aged 5 to 70. The magnificent rafting tour takes place in an incredible natural setting for approximately 5 km (30-35 minutes) with professional guides. We recommend you join.
Mud Bath: High mineral mud collected by rainwater from Saklıkent gathers by the riverside. At the beginning of the season, our company creates a natural pool along the riverbank with machinery. The flow and accumulation of mud here is ensured. The mud, which is completely natural and odorless, is applied to the body and left to dry for 10-15 minutes before washing off, which helps remove dead skin cells. Our mud bath, which has no side effects, is also very enjoyable.
Zipline: Ziplining is an activity where you slide using a steel cable stretched between a high point and a lower one, wear a safety harness, and use your weight and the help of gravity. A wheeled pulley attached to a steel cable helps gain speed. On a zipline route of approximately 300-400 meters, speeds of about 50-60 km per hour can be reached (this speed is directly proportional to the slope of the zipline). At the end of the line, stopping is achieved with a spring brake system or an automatic brake system. There is a wonderful activity here. We recommend it.
👟 Shoe Selection
In this tour, you will encounter two different terrains:
· Water Shoes or Sandals: You will be walking in icy water inside the Saklıkent Canyon. A pair of water shoes that fit well and are suitable for slippery stones is best.
· Sports Shoes: You will need comfortable sports shoes while climbing to the acropolis of Tlos Ancient City and walking on rough terrain.
🎒 Bag and Clothes
· Spare Clothes and Towel: There is a high probability of getting wet while walking in the canyon or participating in activities like mud baths. Make sure to have a dry spare clothing set that you can leave on the bus.
· Swimsuit/Shorts: It is practical to have a quick-drying swimsuit/shorts in your bag or on you for the entrance and activities around the canyon.
· Sun Protection: Some areas of Tlos and the canyon are open terrain. Don't forget to bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses.
💳 Entrance and Payment Information
· Museum Card: The Museum Card is valid at the entrance of Tlos Ancient City; be sure to have your card with you. If you don't have a card, the entrance fee will be approximately 110 TL starting from 2026.
· Cash: The Museum Card is not accepted at the entrance of Saklıkent Canyon. Also, it may be useful to carry cash for small expenses inside the canyon (such as rafting, zipline activities).
📸 Other Important Details
· Waterproof Phone Case: It is recommended to use a protective case to prevent your phone from getting wet while taking photos in the canyon.
· Backpack: Choose a small backpack that can carry your belongings comfortably, preferably one that is waterproof.
The distance between Tlos Ancient City and Saklıkent is approximately 15-20 minutes, but the journey from Fethiye city center by bus takes about an hour.
